The Runaway Brides Series by Celeste Bradley

Jun 30, 2013

Who’s the daddy? When three-year-old Melody is found on the steps of Brown’s Club for Distinguished Gentleman, three members track down the women from their past to discover the truth of Melody’s paternity.

In Devil in My Bed, the first book in The Runaway Brides series, Aiden de Quincy must find the widow from his past who rejected his proposal of marriage. Could Madeline Chandler be Melody’s mother? Will the danger that tore them apart prevent them from a happily-ever-after?

Next, in Rogue in My Arms, Sir Colin Lambert had his heart broken by the beautiful actress, Chantal Marchant. Could she be Melody’s mother? Even if she is, will Colin be able to ignore his growing feelings for Prudence Filby, former seamstress to Chantal?

Finally, in Scoundrel in My Dreams, Lord John Redgrave, or Jack, returned from war only to be jilted by Amaryllis Clarke. After four years in the Indies, Jack will do anything to discover if Melody is his. But what if Amaryllis is not the mother?

When I’m in a reading slump, this is one of the series I turn to. There is humor, mystery, and romance. One of my favorite parts of the series is the wonderful cast of secondary characters who live and work at Brown’s, as well as dressmaker Lementeur. If you’ve enjoyed Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series or The Wallflowers series by Lisa Kleypas, I invite you to try this one.
