HomeConnect is a service for residents of the Johnson County Library service area who are unable to come to the Library in person. If you are permanently or temporarily homebound and unable to come to the Library, then you may want to enroll in HomeConnect service. We can mail all types of library materials directly to you. Olathe residents should apply for Olathe Library to You Delivery.

Requesting items
You can request items using the online catalog or by calling (913) 826-4600. If you use the online catalog, be sure your preferred pick up location is set to the Central Resource Library.
Items will be checked out to you by staff at the Central Resource library, then mailed in reusable blue canvas bags. Media mail can take 2 to 10 days to arrive.
You get a five-week loan period to allow for delivery and return by mail.
As long as no one else is waiting for your items, they can be renewed up to six times.
Due dates and fees
It is free to receive and return items by mail.
If you provide us with your email address, you will receive notifications about due dates. You can also check when your items are due in the online catalog or by calling the library.
You will not be charged late fines for overdue items.
You will be responsible for the replacement costs of any lost or damaged items. If your account has a balance above $50 or more, you will be unable to renew, place holds or check out materials without the assistance of a staff member until the balance is paid in full.
Heads up: If your account has a balance above $50 and any part of that balance has been outstanding for at least 30 days, a non-refundable $10 fee will be applied to your account and you will not be able to check out, place holds or renew material until the balance is paid in full. Call the Library and we will work with you to resolve the situation.
Returning items
Put items back in the blue bag, flip over the address label so that the Library address faces out, and put the bag out for your postal carrier to pick up.
Please do not leave HomeConnect bags outside in inclement weather.
