JoCoHistory contains more than 40,000 historical photographs, newspapers, maps and more documenting the people, places and organizations of Johnson County, Kansas, from the 19th century to the present.

JoCoHistory is a collaborative collection of digitized content from Johnson County Library, Johnson County Museum, Johnson County Archives, Kansas School for the Deaf, Lenexa Historical Society and City of Lenexa, Olathe Public Library, Overland Park Historical Society, Shawnee Mission School District and other local organizations.

The JoCoHistory Obituary Index provides citations for obituaries from local newspapers dating from the late 19th century to the present. Entries are provided by the Johnson County Genealogical Society. New entries are continually being added.

While the citations do not include the obituaries themselves, you can explore the Library's online resources for genealogy, local history and news, or request a copy of an obituary with help from JCGS volunteers through the JoCoHistory website.
