Wake by Amanda Hocking

Nov 3, 2012

First in the new Watersong trilogy, Wake takes us to the quaint seaside tourist town of Capri where 16-year-old Gemma is the star of the high school swim team and has finally made the boy next door notice her.  This summer there are three new girls in town.  Tall, beautiful and supremely confident Penn, Thea and Lexi have caught the attention of everyone in town.  Gemma—who is also, tall, beautiful and a great swimmer—is drawn to swimming in the ocean.  While she enjoys being on the school swim team, she is drawn to the ocean and swims there most nights.  One night she sneaks out of the house to go for a swim and encounters Penn, Thea and Lexi partying in a sheltered cove and they invite her to join them.  After that night things change for Gemma; she’s stronger and faster than ever and even more beautiful with the sea calling to her even more strongly.  Gemma quickly learns that her new friends and these new powers might come at quite a price.

Gemma must choose between staying with her family and friends in her home town which might mean the death of Gemma or those she loves.  Or she can join Thea, Penn and Lexi in a new life of adventure, dark secrets, and an unimaginable life in the sea.  Check out Wake to find out what Gemma decides and don’t miss book two, Lullabye, which will be released in November 2012.
