The Trylle Trilogy: Switched, Torn, and Ascend by Andrea Hocking

Oct 18, 2012

Eleven years ago when she was six, Wendy’s mother tried to kill her, claiming that Wendy wasn’t her daughter but had been switched at birth and her own daughter stolen.  Wendy has always felt slightly out of sync with her family and her friends.  Now, a new student at school, Finn, is telling her that it really is true.  She was switched at birth, hidden away by the Trylle to protect her from their enemies until she was old enough to join the Trylle in their home and start learning their customs.  But Wendy isn’t just a common Trylle, a race of beautiful trolls who have special powers, but she is the daughter of their queen.  The Trylle need Wendy home and learning about the Trylle so that she can start learning how to be their queen as Wendy’s mother is in poor health and war is imminent.  With Finn as her guide and friend, Wendy agrees to go to Trylle and see what it’s all about.  However, growing up in the human world rather than as a pampered Trylle princess has given Wendy a rather different outlook on society and government than what awaits her in Trylle.

To find out if Wendy embraces the Trylle race and follows in her mother’s footsteps, is a leader who avoids war or starts one, and whether or not Finn is the love of her life, check out the three titles in this trilogy:  Switched, Torn, and Ascend by Amanda Hocking.
