Top 10 Prague (Eyewitness Top 10 Travel Guide)

Apr 26, 2011

As a Prague native, I like looking at books about Prague, especially, guidebooks. I am always curious to see what recommendations are made to visitors coming to my home town. Recently, I have picked up a DK Eyewitness travel guide, Top 10 Prague. I am really impressed by it.  It truly highlights the very best that Prague has to offer.

The first part of the guidebook presents Prague’s top 10 finest site to see – such as Prague Castle, Old Town Square and Charles Bridge. It is followed by other top 10 attractions in various categories such as museums and galleries, parks and gardens, or even house signs. The next part of the guidebook, titled “Around Town”, gives a visitor a nice overview of Prague’s diverse quarters together with tips on what to see in each particular area. Even though I lived in Prague for 26 years, I still discovered some new places for me to see during my next visit. The last part of the guidebook concentrates on accommodation, restaurants, useful trips for travelers and more. In addition, the guidebook includes nice pull-out maps including a transportation map (Prague is known for its superb public transportation), great colorful photographs and a general index.

Top 10 Prague is a reliable and concise guidebook. Thanks to its compact size, it can be fitted in a purse or bigger pocket. It provides a visitor with excellent sightseeing, cultural, dining and shopping suggestions. Importantly, unlike some other guidebooks, Top 10 Prague presents correct spelling of the local names and sites.

If you are not planning a trip to Prague, you can still benefit from other DK Eyewitness guidebook series books. I have already borrowed Top 10 Barcelona and Top 10 Madrid for my upcoming trip to Spain.
