Somebody Everybody Listens To by Suzanne SuppleeRetta Lee Jones concludes her high school career by belting out the best version of the Star Spangled Banner at the graduation ceremony that anyone in Starling, TN has ever heard. Retta however, couldn't wait for it to be over, high school, that is. Retta had spent her years at Starling High dreaming about this moment, the moment when she could leave Starling behind and get started on her real life.

When Retta talks her great aunt into loaning her her car for the summer, Retta is on her way. With $500 and her guitar Retta sets out for Nashville where she is going to become a country star. Retta knows it won't be easy, and that its going to take a lot of hard work and gumption to get noticed in a town where great singers are a dime a dozen. Her first day in Nashville, Retta gets a parking ticket, wrecks the car and gets mugged. She also meets two people who change her life.

To find out if Retta makes it and who helps her along the way read Somebody Everybody Listens To by Suzanne Supplee.
