Ellen Sandbeck will help you to enjoy your home more by simplifying your cleaning process, using non-toxic cleaners and time saving techniques. It is a lighthearted and highly readable book full of common sense, practical and inexpensive tips some of which go back to good old-fashioned advice. “Clean it, don’t chemically contaminate it!” that is what Ellen says.

The chapters are well organized by parts of the house you are dealing with. The book includes a bibliography, list of internet resources, and excellent index, which makes it a useful reference guide.

I am not new to green cleaning, I replaced the conventional cleaners long time ago, but there was still plenty for me to learn from Ellen. I found extremely useful the chapter on the low-maintenance bathroom as well as the chapter on organizing and decluttering. Ellen also taught me how to get my cleaning job done with the least amount of work and time possible.

If you are interested in cleaning in an inexpensive and more eco-friendly way as well as spending less time scrubbing your home, this is a great book for you.
