Livvie Owen and her family have always lived in the little town of Nabor with an "a" which is right next door to the much bigger town of Neighbor with an "e". Livvie Owen and her family have lived in a house on almost every street in Nabor and Livvie Owen commemorates their time in each house by inscribing the words "Livvie Owen Lived Here" on her favorite wall in the house. Livve Owen's favorite house of all was the yellow house she called the "Sun House" where everyone had their own bedroom and Orange Cat was still alive.
When we meet Livvie Owen she is standing on a chair organizing the coffee mugs in the top kitchen cabinet when she falls and breaks her favorite mug. This triggers one of the tantrums that Livvie Owen is famous for in Nabor and which has gotten her family evicted from over 20 homes due to the damage and disruption Livvie Owen can cause. You see, Livvie has autism.
With the latest eviction notice it is time to start looking for a new place for the Owens to live. Livvie, however, has decided that the "Sun House" is where everyone was happiest so they should go back there.
