Kitty Goes to War by Carrie Vaughn is the most recent installment in the Kitty Norville series. Kitty is a late night radio host of a show called the Midnight Hour. Kitty is also a werewolf and alpha of her pack in Denver Colorado. In this latest installment Kitty has been contacted by the NIH's Department of Paranatural Biology for assistance with werewolf soldiers who have just returned from Afghanistan. PTSD is making it nearly impossible for the soldiers to control their werewolf impulses. The army will exterminate the werewolf soldiers unless Kitty can teach them to control their werewolf side.
Meanwhile, bad weather is brewing due to Kitty's expose on her radio show regarding strange events of the paranormal variety happening at Speedy Mart convenience stores across the nation. The Speedy Mart president visits Denver to talk to Kitty and persue a legal and not so legal retribution for Kitty's supposed slander of the Speedy Mart chain.
