Into the Dreaming by Karen Marie Moning

Oct 22, 2012

If you are a fan of Moning’s Highlander series you won’t want to miss this companion novella in which another modern young woman finds her true love in the Scottish Highlands of the distant past.  Working as a barista to pay the bills while writing romance novels and receiving rejection letter after rejection letter from publishers, Jane Sillee is longing for life in a simpler time where women stayed home caring for their husbands, children and home and hearth and the men were out hunting and protecting.  Just like the dreams she has been having all her life with her beloved highlander Aedan McKinnon.  Her dreams of Aedan are so vivid and realistic that they seem more like real life than the life she is living.

As she returns home from working as a barista one evening she discovers a large package awaiting her.  Inside the package is a tapestry with the image of her dream highlander woven into the tapestry.  She falls asleep on the tapestry and when she wakes she is no longer in her room in the 21st century!  She’s on the Isle of Skye and the year is 1428!  To find out what Jane has to go through to save Aedan from a future of doing the Unseelie king’s bidding and to stay with him in the past don’t miss Into the Dreaming.  You may have read this republished novella in an earlier compilation titled Tapestry but the current edition contains bonus material from other titles in the Highlander series you won’t want to overlook in addition to this entertaining short read.
