May 27, 2012

The year is 2018 and demons have taken over Atlanta, GA as well as the rest of the world.  Demon Trappers are hard at work in cities all over the world keeping demons from causing any more disruption than necessary to the humans who are struggling to get by in their daily lives since the economic upheaval of the recent past and the incursion of demons from hell.  Riley Blackthorne, daughter of famous demon trapper Paul Blackthorne, is the first and only female demon trapper apprentice in history.  When the demons start calling Riley by name she and the other trappers know that serious trouble is around the corner.  Riley is just having trouble keeping up with her homework, trapper apprentice duties and her crush on fellow trapper apprentice Simon.  When her apprentice duties lead her to discovering a cover-up that could get demon trappers killed Riley must convince the Demon Trapper’s Guild that she knows what she’s talking about.  Meantime, personal tragedy strikes and Riley’s world is turned upside down.  Who can she trust and how can she show the Guild that she can become the Demon Trapper she knows she was destined to be?  This is the first book in Oliver’s Demon Trappers series, book two is Soul Thief, and book three is Forgiven.  Readers who enjoy The House of Night by P.C. Cast will enjoy getting to know Riley and the Atlanta Demon Trapper’s Guild.
