This audiobook rocks! Seriously. But if language, blood, bodily functions, and the mind of a teenage boy gross you out, this is probably not for you. However, keep in mind that this audiobook is very entertaining and if you think you can handle the previously mentioned, go for it! Carter manages to get into so many awkward situations and it is HILARIOUS. Usually I find myself relating too closely to characters and cringing when things become too uncomfortable. Not with Carter. Instead I found myself shaking my head and saying, “Oh, Carter, you amuse me with your quandaries.”
What can you expect to find in Carter Finally Gets It?: All the ups and downs of Freshman year in high school, girls, fights, cops, bike accidents, football, swimming, ADD, and misunderstandings, to name a few. Nick Podehl does an outstanding job of making Crawford’s story feel authentic. I will say that I did not expect the Carter I knew at the being of the story to transform into the Carter at the end, so check it out to see what happens.
