All Clear by Connie Willis

Jul 7, 2012

Connie Willis’ Hugo Award winning culmination of her Feb. 2010 novel Blackout, All Clear is the story of three young time travelers who get stuck in 1940s London, dodging fire bombs and exploding buildings with one goal: to get back home.  Having converged on London, the time travelers quickly find themselves separated, taking on work while attempting in any way to communicate with future researchers looking for them.  Meanwhile, in the future, two historians exhaustingly search the records of history for any hint of their friends stuck in the past.  Billed as science fiction, Blackout/All Clear is as suspenseful as any mystery, informative as any work of historical fiction, witty, comedic, and full of the ideas one equates with a great work of science fiction.
