Life at Pine Haven retirement center in Fulton, North Carolina is never dull. Frequent disagreements among residents are just part of life at Pine Haven. Where everyone has a story and as these stories are revealed to the reader we share in discoveries which are both profound and true-to-life. From eighty-five year old Sadie, a retired school teacher, to her twelve year old visitor, Abby, we are party to some very profound revelations and self-discoveries. Jill McCorkle’s Life After Life characters are believable and her excellent plot make for a good read. Definitely an enjoyable book and more than a beach read.
