edge of your seat, itching to see if assassins and later, Halt’s peril (see what I did there?) is just

around the corner or not. In this, you get suspense you have never gotten in any of the other

Ranger’s Apprentice books and you revisit a popular character from two of the previous books,

Malcolm the medieval drug dealer (healer, sorry). This book is for those who like to wait for

Good Girl, Bad Blood by Holly Jackson is the second book in the series. Pip keeps telling

herself that she’s done investigating crimes until someone she knows goes missing. The police

aren’t going to get involved in this so Pip has to try and uncover this mystery. As she searches

for the missing person, she starts to uncover more secrets hidden in her small town.

The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton follows a 14 year old boy named Ponyboy Curtis. There are two

kinds of people in the world: greasers (always have to be cautious and not wealthy) and socs

(wealthy with a lot of attitude). Ponyboy is a greaser and he’s experienced a lot of rumbles with

socs with his other greaser friends. One night, one of his friends murders a soc and the world

around him slowly starts to crumble.

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas is a very empowering book. The book follows Starr Carter

who witnesses the shooting of her best friend by a police officer. After his death, people started

calling Khalil (her friend who was shot) names. No one knows what went down that night, only

Starr does. The story focuses on Starr fighting for justice for her friend and her community.

The One by Kiera Cass is the third book in the series. America never thought she would be so

close to winning the Selection. She uncovers a lot of secrets and as the rebel attacks get more

dangerous, America has to try her hardest to win.
