Leviathan Wakes by James S. A. Corey is a thrilling and thought-provoking science fiction novel that takes place in a future where humanity has colonized much of the Solar System. The novel follows two main characters: Jim Holden, a former naval officer, and Miller, a detective on the asteroid belt. The novel revolves around a mysterious substance that could change the balance of power in the Solar System, the Protomolecle.
This was one of the first science fiction novels I read and it was great. There is a show on Amazon Prime called The Expanse that is based on the books that I watched before reading the books. There are certain things about the show that are better than the book but overall I like the attention to detail and more in-depth explanations in the book.
I give Leviathan Wakes a 5/5, it is the first book in a series, and it sets up an expansive and fascinating universe that leaves readers eager to explore more. Overall, Leviathan Wakes is a standout example of modern science fiction and a must-read for any fan of the genre.
