I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Reading it I had completely no problems or concerns. I rarely give books 5 stars but The Picture of Dorian Grey was a masterpiece. The book delves into the story of a beautiful man named Dorian Grey as he grapples with his appearance, realizing how beautiful he is and his fear of getting older and losing his beauty. He curses his portrait, stating how he'll get older while the portrait stay young forever.

And Then They Were None is a classic mystery written by Agatha Christie. It surrounds the story of ten strangers who get invited to stay at a famous island called Soldier Island. After landing and settling into their house, they find out at dinner that they were all there because they were connected to past murders of people. This book highlighted themes of guilt, justice, and wealth. In my personal opinion, I enjoyed this book and would give it four stars.

Lord of the Flies is about a group of boys that get stuck on an island. They try to make rules and pick leaders, but they can't seem to maintain that structure. They start turning on each other and turning into savages. It shows how kids act when there's no grown-ups around and how people change when they are away from civilization.

As I read The Shipping News by Annie Proulx, I wasn't expecting to have an experience as interesting as the one I had. The book starts with a witty yet somewhat dark description of the protagonist, Quoyle. He suffers through a whirlwind of tragedies including his wife’s repeated unfaithfulness, his parent’s joint suicide, and an unsuccessful career. Throughout the book, it felt like Proulx was making fun of Quoyle’s misery and I was shocked to see how casually she treated the tragic events in his life.
