As I read The Shipping News by Annie Proulx, I wasn't expecting to have an experience as interesting as the one I had. The book starts with a witty yet somewhat dark description of the protagonist, Quoyle. He suffers through a whirlwind of tragedies including his wife’s repeated unfaithfulness, his parent’s joint suicide, and an unsuccessful career. Throughout the book, it felt like Proulx was making fun of Quoyle’s misery and I was shocked to see how casually she treated the tragic events in his life.
Summary: Revenge: Eleven Dark Tales by Yoko Ogawa is a collection of interconnected short stories that dive into the complexities of human relationships and the dark aspects of life. The narratives are tied together through recurring characters and subtle connections, creating a lot of psychological suspense and unsettling events. Ogawa's writing explores themes of revenge and obsession. With each story revealing the complexities of the characters' lives and their intertwined fates.

Darling is a story about Wendy, your average new girl in town. She misses the life she left behind and wants to finally meet her online friend despite her parent’s refusal. But instead, she quickly finds herself swept up into a night of chaos. After a strange encounter she ends up spending the night with Peter and his gang. But it doesn’t take long for her to realize that there’s something off about Peter. That maybe his gang isn’t as much of a family as they originally seemed.
The only reason Alessandra attends the Shadow King’s ball is to win his heart — and to kill him once he makes her his queen. She’s selfish, manipulative, and murderous. After all, she did kill her first love after he broke her heart. Alessandra has been cast aside all her life, the spotlight focused on her foolish, naive older sister, Chrysantha. She’s tired of being powerless and ignored, she knows what she wants, and she isn’t afraid to do what it takes to achieve it. There’s just one obstacle that she didn’t anticipate — her heart.
The fourth season of Gotham was amazing and engaging to watch. Although many people say they did not like this season, I found it enjoyable and fascinating. This new season of Gotham is different from other seasons, but every season has its own unique form which makes it amazing.
The third season of Gotham was my favorite season out of the series. This new season has magnificent action, unraveled mysterious, intense rivalries, and betrayal. Gotham season 3 begins with James Gordon quitting the GCPD and becoming a bounty hunter to stop the monsters that escaped from Indian Hill.
The second season of Gotham is filled with an interesting and complex storyline, amazing action, and suspenseful mystery. After the end of season 1,Oswald Cobblepot takes control over Gotham’s underworld as Bruce Wayne continues to investigate his parents’ murder and discovering clues at a toxic warehouse under Arkham Asylum named Indian Hill.
The first season to start the TV show introducing Batman’s home, Gotham, is outstanding. I like that the first season introduces every character that would aspire to be the next major villain against Batman. In this TV show it shows the humble beginnings of every character we know that has faced Batman. Gotham begins with Bruce Wayne’s parents being murdered in an alley and introduces Detective James Gordon and Harvey Bullock who take the case.
The end to an amazing trilogy was hard to think of because many people loved the Christopher Nolan trilogy but for the final movie this could not have been better. I loved every second of The Dark Knight Rises because it creates a whole new Batman. After Batman took the responsibility for Harvey Dent’s crimes, Two Face, he quit being Batman. Eight years later Bruce Wayne stays locked in his room at Wayne Manor until a highly skilled and deadly opponent introduces himself to Gotham.
