Solitaire, by Alice Oseman, is a realistic fiction novel set in the same universe as most of Oseman's other books. Victoria Spring, more commonly known as Tori, likes blogging and sleeping. She doesn't have a real friend group at school, so she drifts through her life as a character in her brother's and his boyfriend's life. That is, until she discovers a trail of Post-It notes from her locker to an unused computer lab, where she finds a note from Solitaire.

The Outsiders is a coming-of-age novel by S.E. Hilton and is a story about how a boy and his two older brothers survive in the world after the death of their parents. The main character, Ponyboy (his real name is Michael Curtis), is a 14-year-old who is in a gang with his brothers and friends. They view themselves as outsiders to the real world and take care of one another like family. The book covers the journey they go through as they struggle to get by.

Now as the exiled queen of Faerie, Jude must plan from the mortal world. She makes many deals, faces great dangers, and find her way back to Faerie. But she must hide. There is war brewing; she must confront Cardan, sneak into enemy lines, and becomes entwined in the deadly politics.

The Wicked King by Holly Black is fantasy fiction and the second book in the series. After learning that Oak is the heir to Faerie, Jude must keep him safe. For this reason, she has bound Cardan to herself and made herself the power behind the throne. Jude wants to control the constant changing political alliances but Cardan does everything in his power to humiliate and distract her. Jude soon learns that someone close will betray her and endanger her loved ones.

Jude Duarte was seven when she watched her parents get murdered and she and her two sisters were stolen away from their homes by the same man who killed her parents to live in High Court of Faerie. Growing up, Jude wants nothing more than to belong there, she’s bullied every day and the only protection she has is being the High King’s General’s daughter, but that doesn’t help much.

Louis Zamperini was a runner, a captive, and a fighter. Louie grew up causing problems, so he picked up a hobby of running. Soon this hobby spiraled into a possible career. Louie continued his life as a runner and became very talented in this field. Then WW2 broke out. Louie went out to fight for the United States, until disaster struck. His plane crashed. Louie became helpless and hopeless, while floating in the middle of the ocean. Louie and Phil, who was with him, were found, but were they found by their friends or enemies.
