A Winter’s Promise features Animist Ophelia, a young girl who has the power to travel through mirrors and to see an object’s past upon touching it. However, she is soon forced into a marriage with Thorn, a stern and apathetic man from the faraway world of the Pole. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is about 11-year-old Harry Potter who discovers something magical. He’s a wizard. The book follows Harry through his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This book really keeps you on your toes because there are so many good plot twists. I thought the theme of teamwork in this book was great. My favorite part is when Harry first learns he’s a wizard and my favorite characters are Hermione Granger and Hagrid. This is my favorite book of all time.
City of Dusk follows a ragtag group of heirs to the throne, each possessing a different kind of magic from their godly ancestor. With a morally grey protagonist, and chaotic gods bringing destruction, the four heirs will have to face the trials ahead of them. Traveling through the different worlds, and being chased by monsters across the realms, Risha, Taesia, Nikolas, and Angleica will have to find exactly what makes them special while facing off against each other and their gods.
So you know the basic idea of the fairy-tale and folklore-inspired fiction: Princess Aurore had a christening party which was interrupted by a slighted uninvited guest who casts a curse over the poor child. In the fantasy fiction curse when she turns 16 she will prick her finger and one drop of blood will fall and Aurore will die. Another guest utters a counterspell in the suspenseful tale, and the guest at least is not a fairy in this book.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is a wonderful and popular fantasy book written by J.K
Rowling. This book is about a 16 year old teenage wizard with a strange lightning scar on his
forehead named Harry. In his sixth year, Harry suspects there are new dangers lurking within
the castle walls. Dumbledore is more intent than ever on preparing the young wizard for the
final battle with Voldemort. Throughout the book we learn more about the history of Voldemort
We Rule the Night caught me completely off guard with its immersive fantasy historical fiction world and narrative of fierce women. People who like the concepts of living aircraft, military, wartime, and magic will enjoy this. There is also the idea of traitors thrown into the mix.
