“I thought I won the bloody battle. Is this what triumph tastes like?”

The third book in the famous series that A Game of Thrones is based on, A Storm of Swords is an interesting read. While my least favorite of the series, it’s not because of the story. This is the book with the majority of the famous scenes, and bloody battles. Yet, it was also the slowest of the books to date. Witness the struggles of your favorite characters and how they overcome them, (or don’t.) But don’t be surprised when not all of them make it out alive.

A wonder of worldbuilding, but just a bit slow. A must read for A Game of Thrones fans, but if you are a new high fantasy reader, this might not be the book for you. A thousand pages of beloved characters and world building might be enjoyable for a really determined fan, but for the average joe, I’d look elsewhere. Besides that, still a fun book. 4 out of 5 stars.
