Good Girl Bad Blood is the second book in
Holly Jacksons murder mystery trilogy. This
book was extremely well written and kept me
in suspense throughout the entirety of the
book. One thing I did feel was that the
ending of the book felt rushed leaving me a
little bit confused. All in all, the book
always keeps you questioning on what happens
next, making it a suspenseful and enjoyable
read.
Pip has a mystery to solve because if she doesn’t she may never solve another
mystery again. Someone is after Pip. She doesn’t know who it is, why they are after
her, or what they will do to her if they capture her. It all started with a dead pigeon.
Then the situation escalated to a pigeon with its head cut off and Pippa knew she
had to act fast or she would be next. Pippa is scared and doesn’t know what to do or
who to tell because at this point, who can she trust?
Audrey Rose Wadsworth lives in the misogynistic society of 18th century London. Audrey Rose
has been dealing with sexism all her life, so the idea of what a “proper” woman should be has
stuck with her. However, she busies herself studying science and working under her uncle, who
does forensic medicine, against the wishes of her protective father and brother. Her life is turned
upside down when a serious of horrible and gruesome murders (mostly targeting women) occur
Monday’s Not Coming is about Claudia, a girl who is the only one who cares about
where her best friend, Monday, disappeared. Claudia, coming back from summer break,
was looking forward to seeing Monday, but Monday never shows up. School, church,
her own home, nowhere to be seen. Whenever Claudia asks for answers, no one
seems concerned and tells her to mind her own business. But Claudia is concerned that
A new mystery has come to Pippa’s hometown and Pippa has set out to solve it. Pip
had promised herself, her parents, and boyfriend that she would not try to solve any
more mysteries but she can’t keep her hands off of this mystery. Pippa’s friend
Conner’s brother, Jamie, has gone missing and the police won’t do anything about it
so Pippa feels it is her duty to provide justice to Conner and his family. Pippa knows
she is putting herself in danger with this mission but does she really know how far this
will take her?
Bella Kirkwood is on the case again, this time after finding a woman with a sword
through her heart at the circus. Bella can’t help trying to solve the case with her
editor Luke Sullivan, however Luke seems to be distracted by Ashley Timmons, the
new girl in town. Bella’s dad is about to get married and she thinks there is something
fishy about this marriage and she needs to find out before her life is ruined by
Christina, her dad’s fiance. Bella puts herself in danger once again to solve the
mysteries of Truman, Oklahoma and Manhattan, New York.
The Last Thing He Told Me was a fantastic read. The book was a mystery-thriller
that kept me engaged throughout the whole book. Hannah’s husband
mysteriously disappears after trouble with work. This sets Hannah and her
step-daughter Bailey on a mission to find answers. The story emphasizes the
importance of family and what one is willing to do to protect those they love. With
many twists and turns this will keep readers engaged and wanting more. I would
Woven is the story of Nels, who has been desperate to be a knight for the kingdom of Avërand since he was young. However, despite his height and strength, he’s ignored by the knighthood. Instead, Nels goes around helping his village, until he is murdered. Nels awakes as a ghost, only able to be seen by spoiled princess Tyra. The two must work together to find out who killed Nels, and how it all relates to an ancient needle with the ability to mend and weave the world.
R.I.P Eliza Hart tells the story of Ellie Sokoloff, ex-best friend of Eliza Hart who both attend Ventana Ranch boarding school. Ellie now is a loner, while Eliza is the most popular girl at Ventana Ranch. That is, until she’s murdered. Now Ellie, who’s been bullied by Eliza since she arrived, is determined to solve her murder, despite the fact she now looks like the top suspect. With help from her roommate Sam, she has to find out what really happened, and clear her own name.
The Hawthorne Legacy by Jennifer Lynn Barnes is mystery fiction and the second book in the series. After the secrets that were unveiled in the last book, Avery Grams must continue the search as to why she has the inheritance. Now, she must find who has the answers to her questions, the man who refuses to be found. She knows she’s not a Hawthorne by blood, thanks to a DNA test but there are too many leads to her family history. Now, there’s more than one mystery, and things–and feelings–are about to get complicated.
