The main character, Carrie was raised in a religious household with her mother. Carrie gets her period while showering after gym class at school and thinks she is dying. The other girls in the locker room make fun of Carrie. While some girls feel sorry and try to make it up to her, other girls want the mean joke to go on. After the girls continue on with a terrible prank, Carrie gets her revenge by using her mind. She goes home to her religious mother who says she is a witch/devil.

Home Before Dark by Riley Sager is a suspenseful thriller that follows the story of Maggie Holt, who inherits the infamous Victorian mansion known as Baneberry Hall. Decades earlier, her family fled the house in the middle of the night, claiming it was haunted. Maggie, now an adult and a skeptical home renovator, decides to return to the house to confront her family's past and debunk the supernatural stories that have plagued her family for years.

This Delicious Death by Kayla Cottingham offers an interesting premise but falls entirely flat in its execution. The novel takes place after a sort of zombie apocalypse called “The Hollowing” that turned a small part of the population into “ghouls”, feral creatures who crave human flesh.

Scream 2 is the sequel to Scream, both written by Kevin Williamson. The entire Scream movie series is in the genre of horror/mystery. The Scream movie series also fits in the genre of scary movies called slasher films, in a nod to the method used by the killer. In this movie, the main character from the original Scream movie, Sidney Prescott is now in college. This film takes place two years after the first series of murders.
