Katherine McGee’s futuristic, dystopian debut, The Thousandth Floor, follows the story of five different protagonists, all with different backgrounds, hardships, and secrets that slowly become uncovered. The author paints a beautiful, yet artificial, world, full of glittering gold technology, immense opulence, and a class divide that grows harsher the higher you go.

Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard is fantasy fiction and the second book in the series. Mare
Borrow continues her search for others like her to join the Red Guard. She learns about her
powers, about her heart, and becomes something the Silver Court should fear. I didn’t enjoy this
book very much. There were a lot of unnecessary scenes and it was so dragged on. The
monologues were unnecessarily dramatic and the characters got on my nerves sometimes.
