Confessions of a Shopaholic is a realistic fiction novel written by Sophie Kinsella. In this book, the main character, Rebecca Bloomwood, is a financial journalist at a not-so-exciting paper called Successful Saving. This proves to be quite ironic, as Rebecca is dealing with financial debts of her own that she can’t seem to solve. All Rebecca wants-other than unlimited money to shop with-is to get rid of the anxiety that comes with the pesky overdue fee letters that keep arriving at her doorstep.

The Great Gastby is set in the roaring 1920s and follows Nick, Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan throughout. Jay Gatsby is a mysterious character who seems to have a lot of money, lives in a nice house and isn’t involved in many of the parties he throws. Daisy Buchanan is a young woman who used to be in love with Jay but is now married to Tom Buchanan. The story was really interesting and enjoyable when it was talking about Jay’s infatuation with Daisy.

Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption

This nonfiction war novel was beyond impressive. This book will help you change the way you view the people involved in World War II and give you insight into the scary world of war. Louis Zamperini is the main character and the story goes in depth to tell you his background, accomplishments and role within the war. The major turn events occur when Zamperini goes from the Olympics to the military and he arrives upon difficult foreign land. I think that the most compelling aspect of this book was the continuous feeling of not knowing what will happen next.
