After infecting himself with the tainted magic, Rand stays to train with a band of warriors, but his close friend from his original town is hurt, and only a specific dagger can heal him. Now Rand has to travel out to the world, armed with magic he doesn’t yet understand. Meanwhile Perrin is grappling with his wolves but will be forced to call upon their help in service of his friend.

This book follows a group of adventurers, starting with the perfectly normal sheepherder Rand, who delves into the world of adventure after encountering the strange beings entering his town. Enlisting the help of his friends, they begin traveling around the world, collecting more strange people in their ragtag group, before stumbling upon a strange kind of extremely dangerous magic. Thus begins an adventure over 14 books.

Ashley C. Ford writes a stunningly beautiful memoir about her childhood experiences, and, most importantly, her relationship with her parents. For as long as she can remember, her dad has always been in prison for a crime that she wasn’t allowed to know of, and her emotionally distant mother formed new relationships with other men. Ashley recounts her experiences with her absent father and her strained relationship with her mother, who is trying to recover from heartbreak and the stress of being the sole provider for Ashley.

But when she is called to take part in a hands-on mission with a supervillain, an encounter with a hero leaves her bed-bound. With a new cane and a newfound sense of determination, Anna is angered that she was laid-off and considered a casualty to heroes who couldn’t care less about people like her.
