Teen Hazel Grace Lancaster has cancer. Having to constantly live, imagining that she might not wake up the next morning, is hard. Nevertheless, she tries her hardest to have as typical of a life as she possibly can. While at a cancer support group, Hazel Grace meets Augustus Waters who has his own troubles… and it’s love at first sight. This book follows their romance and their humanity.

If I could give this an infinite number of stars, I would. The Fault in Our Stars is one of my most favorite books I have ever read, and I have read a lot of them. It’s unlike anything else I’ve read before, though I think that’s just attributed to the fact that John Green wrote the novel. I love the little scenes between Hazel Grace and Augustus that seem… normal. The book doesn’t try to be a book, it’s just the interactions between two characters and their environment. The characters are larger-than-life to such an extent that they almost seem completely life-like. There are funny moments, and then there are sad moments. Then, of course, there are the quotable moments. “Some infinities are bigger than other infinities.” Honestly, some things in the novel are just so absurd, I simply accepted that they existed. Every chapter had me flipping the pages, always surprised at what happened next. This is a book everyone should read at least once. If I could read it again for the first time, I would gladly do so.
