Throne of Glass written by Sarah J. Maas is a fantasy novel which begins in the salt mines of Endovier, with the main character Celaena Sardothien. Celaena is an assassin feared throughout the lands of Adarlan. When the Crown Prince of Adarlan, Dorian Havilliard, shows up at Endovier with a deal she is surprised. It's a chance for freedom after being caught and forced to work in the salt mines as punishment. The price of her freedom is winning a competition, and becoming the King's Champion. Who could refuse?

The Assassin's Blade is a fantasy prequel in the Throne of Glass series, written by Sarah J. Maas. We are introduced to the main character, Celaena Sardothien. Celaena works for Arobynn in the Assassin’s Guild. This book contains five stories of her time working for Arobynn, the head of the Assassin’s Guild.

Mare, a girl with red blood, is a thief waiting to get conscripted into the army when she turns eighteen, per the mandate. In this dystopian society, people had silver blood, meaning they had powers, or they had red blood, meaning they did not. When Mare learns that her friend, Kilorn, lost his job, meaning he must get conscripted, she does anything she can to save him from that fate. After meeting a stranger in a bar who turns out to be the crown prince, Cal, Mare gets a job at the castle which saves her from getting conscripted.

Slacker by Gordon Korman is a novel that centers on Cameron Boxer. Cameron is your average teenager who hates homework and plays video games.  Except, he might be hating homework a bit too much as he does not even bother to do it and instead plays video games for most of his free time because he wants to become a championship gamer. This lifestyle comes to a screeching halt when he is grounded.  He almost let his house burn down trying to focus on a game and beat his nemesis.

Because of Mr. Terupt is a novel written by Rob Buyea. The start of fifth grade is here for kids at Snow Hill School. You have your typical set of characters including Jessica, who is new; Peter, class clown; Luke, the smart kid; Alexa, the bully; etc. A normal teacher would have a hard time keeping up with all of them, but not Mr. Terupt. Mr. Terupt is a new teacher who takes a unique approach to his classroom.

Space Case is a mystery novel written by Stuart Gibbs. Dashiell Gibson is a lunarnaut that lives on Moon Base Alpha. He and his fellow crew are the first humans to live on the moon, and they are pretty famous. However, Dashiell cannot go onto the lunar surface, leaving him stuck in the base to do nothing. He has no interest in playing the virtual reality games that kids his age play either. Dashiell’s peaceful yet boring life ends abruptly when the top scientist, Dr. Holtz, is found dead. The story is narrated by Scout Finch, a young girl, and revolves around her father, Atticus Finch, a lawyer defending Tom Robinson, a Black man wrongly accused of abusing a white woman.
