It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover is a romantic fiction novel that is extremely realistic. The book is told through the perspective of Lily who is a woman that moved to Boston and is ready to start her own flower shop. As she lives in the aftermath of her father’s death, Ryle Kincaid enters her life. Ryle is a handsome neurosurgeon who works long hours and is against romantic relationships. However, Lily may just be the exception to his aversion. Their relationship becomes complicated when Atlas Corrigan shows up. Atlas was Lily’s high school love who moved away years ago, but his appearance threatens to break up Lily and Ryle.

This novel was very intriguing from the first page until the end. I finished this novel in two days because I could not put it down. This is the second novel that I have read by Colleen Hoover and I really like her style of writing. Hoover keeps the reader on their toes with many unexpected twists. Like other Colleen Hoover books I would recommend to older readers because of the sensitive adult topics covered. My only complaint with this book is that I would have liked her to write more in the epilogue. Hoover creates a new plot twist, but doesn’t fully develop it as I would have liked. Overall, I enjoyed this book and it has a good lesson behind it that connects back to the title.
