Wider Than the Sky was an emotional and enjoyable read, with the classic clashing of opposite sisters and the unexpected unity when they’re striving to achieve the same goal. With an emphasis on embracing the LGBTQIA+ community, Katherine Rothschild writes about the shocking experience of two sisters discovering that their late father died while hiding a significant part of his identity. While reading this book I was intrigued by the mystery behind Blythe and Sabine Braxton’s father’s death, but I wished the author included different perspectives. I’ve always enjoyed books that change narrators to include different perspectives, so I think the author could’ve included narration from both Blythe and Sabine to show their different experiences as the deal with the tragedy. Since the twins are described to be so different, I think readers would have enjoyed narration from them as they tackle the mystery. Overall, Rothschild’s words tug at hearts as she writes about a bond forming between two sisters as they deal with startling surprises and eventually the idea of forgiveness.
