One of the classic romantic plays that everyone knows about, even if they haven’t read it yet, The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is a lyrically written tragedy that revolves around two forbidden lovers whose families despise each other. You read about how Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet find desperate ways to allow them to be together, even though they aren’t supposed to. I wasn’t disappointed by this classic tragedy written by William Shakespeare. I loved reading about how the beautiful romance between Romeo and Juliet urged them to make desperate plans for them to be together. I think that the play was very well put together, and in the end the overall conflict of the hatred between the two families is solved, though sacrifices were made. On that note, I was a little disgruntled by the ending, because the characters were very reckless with their actions. Even though I understand many emotions were going through their minds, I did get a little frustrated by the characters’ reckless actions. Overall, I recommend this to anyone interested in Shakespeare’s plays and anyone looking for a book with a soulful romance.
