action by Rick Riordan. The second book in the series is about Percy having to save the camp
and the tree that protects it. The tree is poisoned and Percy must find the Golden Fleece and
save his friend Grover along the way in this incredible adventure. Along the way he fights
monsters, mischief, and stop Luke and his mysterious plans with Kronos.
Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief is a exciting, entertaining book to read with great humor
and amazing action by Rick Riordan. The story is of a demigod, half Greek god and half human.
After being in danger from monsters Percy meets other demigods at camp half blood. However,
Zeus, the god of lighting, is missing his lighting bolt. He thinks Percy stole it. To relieve himself
from getting blamed for the stolen rod, Percy must go across the country with his peers

boys. After a while Achilles gets sent off to fight in the Trojan war and Patroclus agrees

long thought dead, and Athena, one of the last original gods who needs her help. Lore binds
Achilles, "the best of all the Greeks," is the son of sea goddess Thetis and king Peleus. He is strong, fast, agile, beautiful, and charming to all who meet him. Patroclus is an awkward young prince who has been exiled from his homeland after a violent accident. They were brought together by chance but they forge an inseparable bond and incredible friendship. When the word comes that Helen of Sparta has been kidnapped, all the Greek heroes are sent for to attack Troy and get Helen of Sparta back.
This book took me a total of 2 days to complete. I was delightfully surprised when I learned that this was the first published book of Madeline Miller, as I’ve read some of her other astonishing and addicting works. This story revolves around the famous Greek hero Achilles and his companion he held for most of his life- Patroclus. Rather than retelling the classic and widespread stories of Achilles’s heel, Miller took an alternative approach to the myths and lifted from the dusty covers the factor of love and friendship, in addition to the hardships and glory the hero faces.
The Adventures of Odysseus by Neil Philip is a thrilling story about the Greek hero Odysseus's journey home from the Trojan War. Odysseus being troubled by many gods along the way; the Greek mythology novel is complete with chaos and action. That said, if gods, demigods, and legendary heroes come to your liking, you won’t regret giving it a read. A truly remarkable novel in my eyes, I find it hard to beat.
