The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon is about a brief encounter between Natasha, a Jamaican
immigrant trying to save her family from being deported, and Daniel, a Korean immigrant who is
forced into studying medicine by his parents. These two characters spend only about 24 hours
together, but the story narrating their adventures together is truly remarkable. This book is about
family, love, identity, and morality, and it was written so well that I couldn't put it down. It has
such a good message and I highly recommend it to anyone.
