Stick Dog Takes Out Sushi is the 11th book of the Stick Dog book series. It starts with all the dogs sleeping, but Karen wakes up and wants to play with a stick. Mutt declares that he has some in his fur, so he shakes them off. The dogs hold the sticks in their mouth, but realize that the sticks have taste, later finding a wrapper saying that the sticks come from sushi. They then try to find where the sushi was from, with most of the dogs believing that it grows on "fish trees". Stick Dog plays along but later takes them to the lake hoping that the restaurant is in the area. While Stick Dog thinks of a plan to get the sushi, the other dogs manage to drift out onto the lake in a canoe. Will the dogs be able to figure out how to come back to land and get the sushi, or will they have to try again another time?
This was a really funny book, just like all the others in the Stick Dog book series! Tom Watson does a great job bringing in elements of previous books as well, like mentioning Lucy from the previous book and how she would have helped the dogs get food, but she was on vacation with her human, so Stick Dog and his friends had to find their own way. There are always new things that the dogs do in the books that crack me up, and in this book, it was how they drifted off to the middle of the lake because of Mutt's rope chewing obsession. I loved this book, and because of all this, I give this book a five out of five.
