No one can figure out why Juliette has never touched someone without causing pain. She’s labeled a psychopath, trapped in a tiny cell with no company but herself and her journal. Her only outlet is the small window outside her room, where she sees the world that the all-powerful government of the Reestablishment has created and hopes to just once see the bird of her dreams which can fly. But for some reason, her cruel overlords have placed someone else in her cell - a boy named Adam, who has piercing blue eyes and a heart of gold. Though their relationship grows and changes, they’re on a ticking clock to escape as it’s only a matter of time before the Reestablishment figures out how to make her a weapon for their own terrible uses.

I thought the idea of this book was interesting and I liked the dynamic between Adam and Juliette, but at the same time they felt like pretty flat characters and the concepts and tropes felt really overdone. It was definitely action packed and easy to read though, so I would still give it two stars instead of one.
