Percy returns to camp half-blood after a disastrous end to his school year to find out that the camp is in danger and the only way to save it is to find the golden fleece or else they will be overrun and invaded by monsters. The second book in the series, The Sea of Monsters, is a nice, condensed book full of action.
We learn more about the characters we love and how they grow and develop. It transitions the plot towards the main storyline of the whole series and introduces us to more aspects of the Percy Jackson universe. This book has many memorable moments, but it feels like a side quest between the main storyline. Even though it contributes to the plot of the whole series, it does not have the same feeling of importance or charm as any other book in the series. Overall, I rate this book a 4.2 out of 5 because it has no boring moments and I just love the world of Percy Jackson and all the characters.
