Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters is the second book in the Percy Jackson series and is written by Rick Riordan. In this book, Percy and his friends have to rescue Grover from a terrible threat while also trying to retrieve the Golden Fleece to cure Thalia’s poisoned pine tree before evil strikes Camp Half-Blood.
Readers who enjoyed the first Percy Jackson book will definitely love this book because it’s a more refined version of its predecessor. This book continues to build the world that the first book and it leads to the creation of some fan-favorite characters. Riordan continues to make hilarious jokes while balancing the light-hearted nature with tense moments and it’s masterful. Plus, if you thought the twist in the last book was unexpected, then you’ll never see the one in this book coming. Just like the first book, this sequel is definitely a must-read.
