Summary: Reverie by Ryan La Sala is a young adult fantasy novel that follows the story of Kane Montgomery, who wakes up in a hospital with no memory of how he got there or the recent events in his life. As he pieces together his memories, he discovers that he has the ability to manipulate reality through his dreams. Kane becomes entangled in a fantastical world called Reverie, where his creations come to life, and he must navigate a complex web of magic, danger, and his own identity. The novel explores themes of self-discovery, acceptance, and the blurred lines between dreams and reality, offering a unique and imaginative take on the coming-of-age genre.

Opinion: The most compelling aspect of Reverie seems to be its imaginative and unique approach to the fantasy genre. Readers have praised the author's creativity in crafting a world where dreams become reality and the protagonist, Kane Montgomery, grapples with his newfound powers. The exploration of identity, self-discovery, and acceptance adds depth to the story, making it more than just a typical fantasy adventure. The plot development was the only disappointment for me. I feel like the development was somewhat rushed and there should have been more time for the development. I would recommend this book to young adults who like imaginative fantasy, especially with a focus on character growth and self-discovery. It might appeal to teens who enjoy stories that blur the lines between reality and fantasy, providing a fresh take on familiar themes. However, for those who prefer straightforward narratives or are not fans of complex fantasy worlds, the book might not be the good match. I give this book a three out of five.
