Cara Jean has always dealt with her bad health. Doctors can’t figure out what happening to her because Cara and her mom are always on the move. But when Cara’s mother sets up a fundraiser to raise money for her illness, she begins to question the people around her. Is Cara’s illness something she was born with? Or is someone intentionally making her sick?

This story is similar to the Gypsy Rose Blanchard case. Both daughters have an illness and both wonder if it’s someone that’s making them sick. Although I like the plot of the book, the characters don’t really have any depth to them. They just seem one dimensional to me.  I also don’t understand why Cara’s mother left her alone for a weekend despite being overprotective of her. I like the cover of the book though, how the darkness represents what Cara is going through while trying to find out the root of her illness. I also enjoy how her mother appears in the background of the cover. I would overall, rate this book a 3/5.
