Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard is dystopian fiction. In a world separated by blood, silver
belonging to the elite with superpowers and red to the commoners, life for Mare Borrow seems
like it will never change. Until she finds herself leaving her poverty-filled life to work at the Silver
Palace. She soon discovers despite having red blood, she also has deadly powers. Powers that
will destroy the corrupt power. Fearing her powers, the Silvers decide to disguise her as the
long-lost Silver princess and marry her to a Silver prince. Hating the SIlvers and what they stand
for, Mare decides to help a resistance group, knowing that getting caught will end her life, to
bring down the Silver establishment. In a world full of lies and betrayal, Mare finds herself in a
battle against everything she’s known and her heart. This book was so good. I really liked the
characters and the betrayals, I also really liked the writing style. It did get a little annoying at
times but it was still great. I would give this book a 4/5!
