Night is a memoir by Elie Wiesel.  The book is about his experiences as a Jewish teenager during the Holocaust. It follows his journey from a small town in Transylvania to various concentration camps, including Auschwitz and Buchenwald. In the camps, he witnesses and suffers from a lot of cruelty. His father is all he has left, but his father eventually dies, too. Elie was very faithful at the beginning of the book, but over time he begins to question what his faith has really gotten him.

I read this book at school, but I really liked it. Since Wiesel wrote this book about himself, we get a lot of personal thoughts and feelings that we would not have gotten otherwise. There are only two main characters in this book, Elie, and his father, so we get a very clear understanding of their struggles and get to really understand them. I also really liked that Elie talked about changes to his faith throughout the book, especially since it seemed to be one of the most important things to him before the war. I would definitely recommend this book.
