Cassie Hobbes is a 17 year old girl who’s living with her dad’s relatives. Her mom was
brutally murdered 5 years prior and the body was never found. Cassie grows up with that
trauma and never moves on from it. So when special agent Tanner Briggs wants to recruit her
for a special program called ‘The Naturals,’ Cassie accepts in hopes of finding her mother’s
killer. However, things mix up when Cassie and her new friends at ‘The Naturals’ program find
out that there’s another killer on the loose. Cassie is led to believe that this is the same person
that killed her mother, especially when she finds evidence that all of the murders have been
people who look like her mom. The killer also is targeting Cassie, which makes Cassie go on an
investigation for who this murderer is.

This was a really good book. It was a unique concept, with the teens in the FBI thing and
all. Cassie’s lessons were fun to read, and we learned stuff about killers too as readers. The plot
twist at the end was pretty surprising, especially when Cassie leaned on Locke so much. I would
recommend this book to anyone who likes a good mystery/thriller.
I liked the cover, and I think it was an accurate representation of the story’s contents.
The box represents all the ‘gifts’ that the killer sent Cassie with the hair in them. The tape
around it shows police tape, which I think is to represent the FBI. That’s pretty much all there is
to it, but those two things hold great meaning to the story.
