Much Ado About Nothing is a romantic comedy by William Shakespeare. It’s a story
about how love makes us do ridiculous things and this is a topic that Shakespeare revisits in his
later plays. Much Ado About Nothing is about how a young man from war falls in love with a
nobleman’s daughter, which is the complete opposite of his friend’s annoyance with the
nobleman’s niece. When the young man finds reason to believe that his love has been
unfaithful, the story takes a hilarious turn and all sense of logic flies out the window as love-
struck protagonists make dumb-witted decisions. The characters are all likeable in this book
and the story, as said before, is hilarious. The one problem I have with the book is that it’s not
the best love story that Shakespeare has written, but I think he used this story as a way to
experiment with what works for audiences, so I’ll give him a pass. It’s a very enjoyable story and
is filled with memorable moments.
