I have a confession to make. I first decided to read this because I thought it was going to be a story about the police’s neglect of the missing case of an African American girl and it was so different from that. That would have been wonderful but this was wonderful in a different way. Monday’s Not Coming is the fascinating story of a girl’s life after she loses her best friend, the person closest to her. The narrator of the story is far younger than I expected her to be, only 13 I believe (I read this about a month ago, don't quote me on that). This story dives into the world of her loss and flashes between the present and the past where she had her best friend. This story explores the story of a girl who wonders what happened to her best friend and slowly learns something is wrong. The story explores Claudia’s life and is very interesting but there is a genre jump scare in around the last 5% of the book if you want to hear it I'll post it below.

Overall this wasn’t the usual kind of thing I read even if I did get jump scared.
