The Martian is a fictional story about an astronaut who accidentally gets stranded on Mars and only has limited supplies to survive the hostile conditions of the planet and find a way to contact NASA to get himself back to earth.
The Martian is an amazing book filled with realistic science and ingenuity. There are no boring moments in the book and it is really hard to put down once you start reading. The humor of the book and the constant dangers to which Watney tries to find solutions to are the best parts of the book. But the constant back and forth can be the worst part for some as it may feel boring and repetitive. By the end of the book the story feels dragged out but it still manages to keep its charm and achieves a balance. I highly recommend this book if you like survival stories or space in general. I give this book a 4.6 out of 5.
