After a disastrous time at Loveboat, Sophie, a freshman at Dartmouth is ready to focus on her career and swear off all boys. While Xavier was told that he wouldn’t get his trust fund, which unlocks at 18, till he finishes high school. Sophie wants to focus on doing well in Dartmouth, while Xavier wants to hold out in high school and get his diploma quickly. However, Sophie was told her project was too feminine and to prove her professor wrong she takes Xavier’s help to make her project better in Taipei. When a small trip to Taipei was accidentally made into a Loveboat reunion, Sophie needs to plan the reunion and finish her project successfully. But when she spends more time with Xavier, her no-boys rule is getting questioned. Finally, Sophie can learn that she can date and focus on her career at the same time while Xavier realizes that accepting help is okay.
I thought this book was a good sequel and was interesting in its own right. Although I was skeptical about Sophie and Xavier, I liked how the book showed their relationship in a different light. I loved both Sophie’s and Xavier’s character growth and I really enjoyed the book. This is a good read for those who like teen romance and liked the book Loveboat, Taipei.
Overall, I thought that this was a good sequel and enjoyed reading it. I rate this a 4 out of 5.
