Third-year Ph.D. student, Olive Smith doesn’t believe in relationships whatsoever. However, to convince her best friend Anh that she’s dating someone, she kisses the first man she sees which just happens to be professor Adam Carlsen (a very unliked person on campus). However, to keep up the act Olive needs Adam to pretend to be her secret boyfriend to which he agrees. But, when Olive starts catching feelings all of a sudden the fake relationship doesn’t seem to be fake anymore putting her own heart at risk.

This book was very good I loved the plot and the characters. The whole fake dating/fake marriage trope has been a favorite of mine even though I usually know how it turns out in the end. That being said, the book was a little cliche however I appreciated the professor/student trope as well. I also thought it was really interesting how the author included various details about the lives of scientists in this book. Overall I think the book was good, I wouldn’t consider it one of my favorites and it wasn’t really that unique of a story but I did enjoy the book and I thought it was a good romance book for teens and adults.
