Summary: Look for Me is a thriller novel by Lisa Gardner that follows Detective D.D. Warren as she investigates a gruesome murder scene where a family of five has been brutally slaughtered, except for the eldest daughter who is missing. Flora Dane, a survivor of a past abduction, becomes a key character as she assists D.D. in the search for the missing girl while dealing with her own traumatic past. The novel dives into themes of resilience, trauma, and the complexities of family bonds, delivering a gripping and intense narrative that combines police procedural elements with psychological suspense. The author creates a suspenseful and emotionally charged story that keeps readers on the edge of their seats as the hunt for the missing girl unfolds.

Opinion: The most compelling aspect of Look for Me is its intricate character development and the exploration of the psychological aftermath of trauma. The novel expertly delves into the minds of its characters, particularly Flora Dane, who is a fascinating and complex survivor of abduction. Gardner's portrayal of trauma and resilience is both moving and thought-provoking, making the story emotionally resonant. Some disappointments I had with this book was that the pacing was very slow in some parts and the very short thriller scenes. I would recommend this book to fans of psychological thrillers and police procedurals who enjoy stories that blend suspense with deep character exploration. It's a great choice for readers who appreciate a well-crafted mystery that dives into the human psyche and isn't solely focused on fast-paced action. I give this book a three out of five.
