Every 100 years the Lightlark island reappears, and every 100 years the six rulers of the realms gather to try and break their curses. Isla has never been to one before and she doesn’t have a choice but to walk away from this centennial with the curse broken. But with twists and turns along the way she faces a multitude of challenges that make the job harder. There’s the King and Ruler of Sunling, Oro who despises her. She’s not quite sure why but she understands that he’s suspicious of her. Then there’s Grim, instantly obsessed with her, and full of secrets. Grim is ruler of Nightshade and he doesn’t appear to want to break the curse. Pulled between Light and Dark Isla will face a multitude of ups and downs in order to be free.

I gave “Lightlark” 4 stars because I loved the plot. I thought this was one of the more addictive plots I’ve read in a while so that really carried it. However, if you want amazing characterization and the ability to describe character traits this is not the book for you. There was a lack of development on the personalities of some characters that I really wish had been there. But I really enjoyed the main character, and the idea of dark and light love interests is always a great love triangle in books.
